Description
Water Mint Plug Plants Mentha aquatica
Common names include water mint and marsh mint.
A vigorous perennial herb with aromatic, mint-scented foliage and attractive lilac-pink flower heads that bloom from July to October. Water mint is a magnet for bees, butterflies, and hoverflies, providing a valuable nectar source late in the season. Its fresh minty scent and edible leaves also make it a useful addition to herb gardens for teas and culinary use.
Thriving in wet or boggy soils, water mint is ideal for planting around pond edges, in wet meadows, or damp wildlife areas. It spreads easily to form dense, wildlife-friendly ground cover that supports a wide range of insects and other pond-edge species.
Our strong, healthy plug plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and ready for planting directly into their final position.
Sourced from UK-grown native stock, these plugs are a reliable way to establish this aromatic, pollinator-friendly plant where seed germination may be unreliable.
We recommend planting 5–7 plugs per square metre for a natural look.
