Description
Meadow Clary 9cm Pot Plants Salvia pratensis
Also known as meadow sage.
Found now, in the wild, in a small number of sites in southern England, meadow clary is a native clump-forming perennial bearing long spikes of violet-blue flowers throughout June, July and August. It thrives on chalk or limestone soils in sunny open sites, and along south-facing hedgerows and woodland edges. Our meadow clary 9cm pot plants are perfect for informal gardens, wildlife gardens and meadows where their blue flowers look good alongside the yellow blooms of bird's foot trefoil or kidney vetch.
One of the RHS Plants for Pollinators, meadow clary is an excellent nectar source for bees and other pollinating insects.
Sourced from native seed and grown in the UK, our 9cm pot plants are an ideal way to enhance your wildflower meadow or establish resilient plants in your garden or areas where seed germination can be unpredictable.
For the best results, we recommend planting 3 plants per square metre, grouping at least 3 of each species together to achieve a natural, flourishing look.
