Description
Marsh Marigold Plug Plants Caltha palustris
Common names include Mayflower or Kingcup.
This bright, cheerful perennial is a native wildflower often found in wet meadows, marshes, and along stream banks. Known for its striking yellow flowers, the marsh marigold thrives in moist, boggy conditions and is an excellent choice for water gardens. Its vivid blooms are a favourite of early spring pollinators, including bees and butterflies.
Ideal for cottage gardens, water gardens, or wildlife-friendly landscapes, marsh marigold prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded spot. It’s perfect for creating vibrant, low-maintenance garden displays or adding a splash of colour to a naturalistic garden setting.
Our strong, healthy plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready to be planted in their final position.
Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our plug plants are an ideal way to boost species in a wildflower meadow or to easily establish plants in your garden or in areas where seed germination can be erratic.
We recommend planting 5 plugs per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
