Giant Bellflower Plug Plants Campanula latifolia

Common names include broad-leaved bellflower and wide-leaved bellflower.

Giant bellflower is a hardy native perennial commonly found in woodland edges, hedgerows, shaded banks and damp grassland, where its tall spikes of large violet-blue, bell-shaped flowers provide an attractive display throughout summer. The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.

This elegant woodland wildflower thrives in partial shade and moist, well-drained soils, although it will also grow in full sun if the soil remains consistently moist. Its upright habit and impressive height make it ideal for cottage gardens, woodland planting schemes and the back of herbaceous borders, where it adds vertical interest and natural beauty.

Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our plug plants are an ideal way to boost species in a wildflower meadow or to easily establish plants in your garden or in areas where seed germination can be erratic.

We recommend planting 5-7 plugs per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
