Description

Dropwort Plug Plants Filipendula vulgaris

Common names include fern leaf dropwort.

Dropwort is a lovely perennial that produces clusters of small, white or pale pink, fragrant flowers, and deep pink buds, from late spring to early summer. More tolerant of dry conditions that meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), it thrives in well-drained, moist soils, and is often found in meadows, grasslands, and along stream edges.

Dropwort attracts pollinators with its nectar-rich flowers and is perfect for cottage and informal gardens, wildlife gardens and wildflower meadows.

Our strong, healthy plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready to be planted in their final position.

Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our plug plants are an ideal way to boost species in a wildflower meadow or to easily establish plants in your garden or in areas where seed germination can be erratic.

We recommend planting 5 plugs per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
