Description
Dandelion Plug Plants Taraxacum officinale
Common names include lion’s tooth, and blowball.
An iconic perennial wildflower with bright golden-yellow flower heads from March to October, followed by its familiar fluffy seed clocks. Dandelions are a vital early and late nectar source for bees, hoverflies, and other pollinators, supporting wildlife when few other plants are in bloom. Their deep taproots also improve soil health by bringing nutrients closer to the surface.
Thriving in a wide range of soils and conditions, dandelions are hardy and highly adaptable. They naturalise easily in lawns, meadows, verges, and wildlife gardens, adding cheer and important biodiversity value to any setting.
Our strong, healthy plug plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready to plant straight into their final position.
Sourced from UK-grown native stock, these plugs are ideal for encouraging pollinator-friendly planting and restoring species-rich grasslands.
We recommend planting 5–7 plugs per square metre in informal groups for a natural look.
