Common Rockrose Plug Plants Helianthemum nummularium

Common rockrose is a low-growing native evergreen shrub commonly found on chalk and limestone grasslands, rocky slopes and other dry, open habitats, where its spreading habit and masses of bright yellow, saucer-shaped flowers provide a vibrant display from late spring through summer. The cheerful blooms open in sunshine and are particularly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, making it an excellent choice for wildlife gardens, rockeries, gravel gardens and sunny borders.

Thriving in full sun, common rockrose prefers dry, well-drained, neutral to alkaline soils and is particularly well suited to chalky, stony or sandy ground. Its neat mat-forming growth and small evergreen leaves provide year-round structure, while its nectar-rich flowers offer a valuable summer food source for a wide range of pollinators.

Our strong, healthy plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready to be planted in their final position.

Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our plug plants are an ideal way to boost species in a wildflower meadow or to easily establish plants in your garden or in areas where seed germination can be erratic.

We recommend planting 5-7 plugs per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
