Description
Burnet Saxifrage Plug Plants Pimpinella saxifraga
Common names include solidstem burnet saxifrage and lesser burnet.
A delicate, upright perennial with airy heads of small, creamy-white flowers from June to September. Burnet saxifrage is a rich source of nectar and pollen, attracting bees, butterflies, and hoverflies throughout the summer. Its fine, feathery foliage adds texture to meadows and wildlife plantings, while its deep roots help stabilise soil on dry sites.
Thriving in well-drained, calcareous soils and full sun, it is well-suited to chalk grasslands, wildflower meadows, and naturalistic borders. This resilient wildflower is perfect for supporting pollinators and adding subtle beauty to dry, open habitats.
Our strong, healthy plug plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready for planting directly into their final position.
Sourced from UK-grown native stock, these plugs provide a reliable way to establish burnet saxifrage where seed germination may be patchy.
We recommend planting 5–7 plugs per square metre in groups for a natural effect.
