Borage Plug Plants Borago officinalis

Common names include starflower or bee bread.

This annual herb has long naturalised in UK gardens and wild spaces. Borage is easily recognised by its striking star-shaped blue flowers and softly hairy foliage. Rich in nectar, the flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly planting.

Perfect for cottage gardens, kitchen gardens or wildlife areas, borage thrives in well-drained soil in a sunny position and will readily self-seed once established.

Our strong, healthy plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and are ready to be planted in their final position.

Grown for us in the UK, our plug plants are an ideal way to boost species in a wildflower meadow or to easily establish plants in your garden or in areas where seed germination can be erratic.

We recommend planting 5 plugs per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
