Description
Betony 9cm Pot Plants Stachys officinalis
Common names include, purple betony, wood betony and bishop's wort.
Add a splash of late-summer colour to your rough grassland, meadow, or garden with Betony – a striking perennial native wildflower. Its rich purple-red flower spikes bloom from mid-summer into September, providing vital nectar for bees and other pollinators when many other plants have faded.
Betony thrives in moist but well-drained soil and is happiest on slightly acidic to chalky ground. It’s well suited to rough grassland, meadows, and light woodland edges. Once established, it can tolerate drier conditions, making it an excellent choice for naturalistic planting schemes.
Grown in the UK from native seed, our 9cm pot plants are perfect for creating resilient wildflower areas where sowing seed may be less reliable.
For the best results, plant 3 per square metre, grouping at least 3 of each species together to achieve a natural display.
