Wild Red Clover Trifolium pratense
Common names include cow clover, kitty clover and meadow clover.
A common sight in a wide range of grassy settings from gardens to meadows and roadsides, wild red clover is a low-growing native perennial wildflower which blooms from May to September. It prefers full sunlight, but will cope with dappled shade.
The flowers are a great nectar source for many species of bee, including the common carder bee, honeybee and the red-tailed bumblebee.
Sow red clover in the spring from March to May, or in late summer from mid to late August.
All our native wildflower seed is sourced from stock grown in the wild in Britain. It is then multiplied up commercially and packed in the UK so you can be confident you are buying native British wildflower seed.
