Description

Teasel Dipsacus fullonum

Common names include, wild teasel, fuller's teasel, brushes and combs.

This large striking biennial wildflower can grow up to 6 feet tall, and its oval spiky seedheads are a familiar site in a wide variety of native habitats from grasslands and meadows to watersides.

It is an ideal wildflower for your garden providing food for bees and other pollinators when in flower, and for birds, such as goldfinches, when seeding.
