Description
Holly | Ilex aquifolium
For a single row of hedging, you will need 4 plants per metre; for a double row of hedging, you will need 6 plants per metre.
This beautiful evergreen native plant is common across the UK in woodlands, scrub and hedgerows. Holly has glossy prickle-edged leaves all year round, white flowers that bloom between early spring and the beginning of summer, and distinctive bright red berries that remain on the branches all winter.
Evergreen holly is perfect for creating an attractive ornamental hedge which will give privacy while creating an effective wind break and barrier. Easy to grow, holly is suitable for most conditions, even tolerating full shade, and its berries are an important food source for birds and small mammals.
Our holly plants are grown in the UK from UK origin seed.
