Description
Dark Mullein 9cm Pot Plants Verbascum nigrum
Common names include, Aaron's rod, tall mullein, Our Lady's Candle and black-rooted mullein.
Dark mullein can grow to 2 metres in height with a tall flower spike of yellow blooms and distinctive hairy grey-green leaves. This native biennial can be found in grassy banks, roadsides and hedgerows and prefers to grow on calcareous soils.
One of the RHS Plants for Pollinators, dark mullein is an excellent nectar source for bees and other pollinating insects.
Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our 9cm pot plants are a quick and effective way to boost species in a wildflower meadow.
We recommend planting around 3 plants per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
