Bird's-Foot Trefoil Lotus corniculatus

Common names include eggs and bacon, hens and chickens, and deervetch.

A low-growing native perennial wildflower with distinctive egg-yolk yellow flowers, bird's-foot trefoil is ideal for a wide range of grassy habitats such as informal cottage gardens and borders, as well as wildlife gardens and meadows.

It is an important food source for the caterpillars of butterflies such as the wood white and the common blue and it is a great nectar source for pollinators.

Sow in spring from March to May, or in autumn from August to October.

All our native wildflower seed is sourced from stock grown in the wild in Britain.  It is then multiplied up commercially and packed in the UK so you can be confident you are buying native British wildflower seed.
