Purple Toadflax Plug Plants Linaria purpurea
Common names include Italian toadflax.
A tall, elegant perennial with slender spires of soft purple flowers held above narrow, grey-green foliage. Flowering over a long season from June to September, purple toadflax is a superb nectar source for bees, especially long-tongued species, and other pollinators. Its airy habit and long flowering period make it ideal for wildlife-friendly borders, gravel gardens, and naturalistic planting schemes.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soils, this drought-tolerant plant self-seeds readily and is perfect for adding height and movement to wildflower areas or mixed herbaceous plantings.
Our strong, healthy plug plants are grown in 40cc cell trays and ready for planting directly into their final position.
Sourced from UK-grown stock, these plugs provide an easy way to establish this graceful, pollinator-friendly species in your garden or wild space.
We recommend planting 5–7 plugs per square metre in loose clusters for a natural effect.
