Salad Burnet Sanguisorba minor

Common names include old man's pepper and drumstick.

Salad burnet has low-growing evergreen foliage and thrives in most soils, preferring a lighter chalky soil. It has deep-roots and is drought-resistant.

An ideal addition to your wildflower meadow, wildlife garden or herb garden, the leaves of salad burnet are edible and can be added to salads and stews.

One of the RHS Plants for Pollinators, salad burnet is an excellent nectar source for bees and other pollinating insects.

Sow in spring from March to May, or in autumn from August to October.

All our native wildflower seed is sourced from stock grown in the wild in Britain.  It is then multiplied up commercially and packed in the UK so you can be confident you are buying native British wildflower seed.
